The Challenge

The Arnold Road project required the solar PV system to be carefully coordinated with a Bauder green roof and its associated rooftop features.

RWC Group supplied and installed the specialist Bauder BioSolar mounts before PV Plus completed the solar installation. Close coordination was therefore essential to ensure the mounting system, solar panels and electrical equipment were installed in the correct sequence.

The roof also contained multiple access points, ventilation equipment and designated gravel areas that needed to remain clear and accessible.

Our Solution

PV Plus supplied and installed:

• 180 × AIKO 470 W solar panels, providing a total capacity of 84.60 kWp
• 2 × Solis 40 kW inverters
• Solar panels fitted to the Bauder BioSolar mounting system
• DC cabling and electrical connections
• Installation of the inverters onto purpose-built frames
• DC testing and completion reporting
• Final system testing and commissioning

The Bauder BioSolar mounts were supplied and installed by RWC Group. PV Plus then fitted the panels and inverters, coordinating our work with the completed mounting arrangement and surrounding green roof areas.

The Result of the BioSolar Installation in East London

The completed 84.60 kWp system is expected to generate approximately 76.82 MWh of renewable electricity each year and save an estimated 17.90 tonnes of CO₂ annually.

The BioSolar installation makes productive use of the available roof space while allowing solar energy generation and green roof infrastructure to operate together.
