Calvary
20kWp
Bauder Bio Green Mount System
Overview
Calvary Crescent is a residential apartment development in the South East, designed with sustainability at its core. PV Plus was selected by Clarke Roofing to deliver a solar PV system that would integrate seamlessly with the Bauder green roof and provide energy directly to all 14 apartments. The result was an award-winning, bio-integrated solar installation that showcases best practice in shared solar for multi-residential buildings.

The Challenge
The project team needed a solar solution that could sit on a Bauder green roof without compromising the vegetation layer, and that could also feed solar energy fairly and compliantly to all individual flats. The roof had limited space and structure, requiring careful coordination between PV, roofing, and electrical design.
Our Solution
We installed a 20kW Bauder BioSolar system using high-efficiency Aiko 455W panels and a Solis 20kW inverter, mounted without penetrating the waterproofing. To distribute solar energy across the 14 dwellings, we integrated an Allume SolShare unit—a game-changing technology that enables equitable sharing of PV electricity in multi-occupancy buildings without the need for battery storage.
The Result
The system now generates clean energy for all residents, reducing grid demand and energy costs while maintaining the integrity and biodiversity of the green roof. The project was recognised at the 2024 Energy Efficiency Awards, winning Small Scale Project of the Year for its innovation, collaboration, and carbon-saving impact.
