The Challenge
The project involved multiple roof sections, each with different electrical supply requirements, meaning the solar design had to be carefully tailored to match available supply and load capacity. Bauder’s BioSolar system required precise layout and mounting to maintain waterproofing integrity, with welding reserved for the roofing contractor’s scope. Coordinating the supply and logistics of materials — including surplus stock from a previous Denmark Hill project — added another layer of complexity.

Our Solution
PV Plus supplied all PV materials, marked out and laid anchor boards, and fabricated mounts for Bauder’s BioSolar frames. We installed:

• Roof Area 1 – Core 1: 48x Aiko 455W panels (21.84kWp) with a Solis 20kW 3-phase inverter (40A supply)

• Roof Area 2 & 3 – Core 2: 18x Aiko 455W panels (8.19kWp) with a Solis 8kW 3-phase inverter (20A supply)

• Roof Area 4 & 5 – Core 3: 80x Aiko 455W panels (36.4kWp) with a Solis 36kW 3-phase inverter (63A supply)

All systems were installed without penetrating the waterproofing, following Bauder best practice. PV Plus managed all layout, mechanical installation, and coordination with Contour’s team, ensuring a smooth interface between roofing and solar works.

The Result
The completed 65.98kWp system now delivers significant on-site renewable generation across the development, reducing reliance on grid electricity and supporting long-term energy savings. The Bauder BioSolar mounting ensures biodiversity and roof performance are preserved, while the tailored electrical design maximises system output per core.
