Legacy Wharf, Stratford
191.70kWp
Axter BioSolar System
Overview
PV Plus delivered the solar PV element of a 191.70 kWp BioSolar installation in London across six blocks at Bellway Homes’ Legacy Wharf development in Stratford. Appointed by Southern Mastic Roofing, we installed 426 Trina Solar 450 W panels and six Growatt inverters, creating a combined system expected to generate approximately 174.06 MWh of renewable electricity annually.

The Challenge
Legacy Wharf is a major residential development comprising six separate blocks, each with its own solar array, inverter and installation requirements.
Delivering this large BioSolar installation in London required careful coordination between PV Plus, Southern Mastic Roofing and the wider project team. The solar panels had to be installed above green roof systems using Axter BioSolar mounts supplied and fitted by the roofing contractor.
The six blocks became available at different stages of the construction programme, requiring PV Plus to plan each installation separately while maintaining consistent quality across the complete development.
Our Solution
PV Plus installed a combined 426 Trina Solar 450 W panels, providing a total capacity of 191.70 kWp across the six blocks.
The system was divided as follows:
- Block A – Agitos: 87 panels, 39.15 kWp and one 33 kW Growatt inverter
- Block B – Banks: 60 panels, 27.00 kWp and one 25 kW Growatt inverter
- Block C – Claret: 54 panels, 24.30 kWp and one 20 kW Growatt inverter
- Block D – Vilnius: 52 panels, 23.40 kWp and one 20 kW Growatt inverter
- Block E – Invictus: 92 panels, 41.40 kWp and one 40 kW Growatt inverter
- Block F – Wacke: 81 panels, 36.45 kWp and one 33 kW Growatt inverter
Across the development, PV Plus completed:
- Installation of the solar panels across all six blocks
- Installation of six Growatt inverters
- DC cabling and electrical connections
- Coordination with the roofing contractor’s green roof works
- DC testing and completion reports for each block
- Final system testing and commissioning
The Axter BioSolar mounts were supplied and installed by the roofing contractor. PV Plus then completed the solar PV installation once each block was ready.
The Result of the BioSolar Installation in London
The completed system provides Legacy Wharf with 191.70 kWp of installed solar capacity distributed across six residential blocks.
Based on local solar generation assumptions, the combined system is expected to generate approximately 174.06 MWh of renewable electricity each year and save an estimated 40.56 tonnes of CO₂ annually.
By combining solar PV with green roof areas, the development makes productive use of its available roof space while supporting Bellway Homes’ wider energy and sustainability objectives.
Why PV Plus
Large, multi-block developments require more than straightforward panel installation. They demand careful programming, reliable communication and close coordination between the solar, roofing and construction teams.
PV Plus’s experience with BioSolar systems allowed us to work effectively alongside Southern Mastic Roofing and deliver a consistent installation across all six blocks as they became available.
