Overview
Richmond Cars operate a busy car showroom with high electricity demand from lighting, HVAC, and EV charging. To help offset this consumption and reduce operating costs, PV Plus delivered a large-scale rooftop solar PV system. The installation was completed while the site remained fully open to staff and the public, requiring careful planning and execution to avoid disruption.

The Challenge
The client required a high-capacity solar system that could meaningfully reduce their electricity bills and carbon footprint. The installation needed to be carried out on a live showroom site, meaning safety, discretion, and zero downtime were critical.
Our Solution

Van der Valk mounting system
The system was designed with SolarEdge technology to optimise performance and provide panel-level monitoring, ensuring maximum output and long-term reliability. Our team coordinated works around the client’s operations, using phased scheduling and strict safety measures to keep the site open throughout.
The Result
The completed 165 kWp system will generate around 144 MWh of renewable electricity annually, avoiding approximately 33.5 tonnes of CO₂ each year. Richmond Cars now benefit from significantly reduced energy costs while enhancing their sustainability credentials — all achieved with no disruption to their day-to-day operations.
