The Challenge

Delivering this solar installation in Dagenham required close coordination between the solar and roofing works. The system needed to be securely integrated with the flat-roof build-up while maintaining safe rooftop access throughout the project.

PV Plus also managed temporary edge protection, AC electrical works and a fixed installation programme within a school environment.

Our Solution

PV Plus supplied and installed:

• 102 × LONGi 480 W solar panels, providing a total capacity of 48.96 kWp
• 1 × Solis 40 kW three-phase inverter
• A Bauder flat-roof mounting system
• Marking out of the solar array and mounting positions for Ithaca Roofing
• Installation of the mounting system, solar panels and DC wiring
• Completion of the AC electrical works
• System testing and commissioning

Temporary handrails and an access tower were arranged to support safe working at roof level. The installation was coordinated with Ithaca Roofing, who completed the welded-down sleeves required for the mounting arrangement.

The Result of the Solar Installation in Dagenham

The completed 48.96 kWp system is expected to generate approximately 44.46 MWh of renewable electricity each year. This is estimated to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 10.36 tonnes of CO₂ annually.

The installation makes productive use of the school’s available flat-roof space while reducing its reliance on grid electricity and supporting its longer-term sustainability goals.
