PV Plus worked with Byford to deliver a 58.5kWp solar PV system at St Mary’s Primary School. The installation forms part of the school’s wider sustainability plan, reducing energy costs and cutting carbon emissions, while integrating seamlessly with Bauder’s BioSolar mounting system.

The Challenge
The project required a system that could be installed on a Bauder BioSolar green roof, with all materials (including DC cabling) supplied by Byford. The installation had to be carefully managed to work alongside roofing and electrical requirements while ensuring compliance with DNO standards.

Our Solution
PV Plus installed:

  • 136 x SolarWatt 430W panels (total 58.5kWp)

  • 1 x Solis 50kW inverter

  • Bauder BioSolar mounting system supplied and fitted as part of the roof build-up

The system was configured to maximise generation while maintaining the green roof’s integrity.

The Result
The school now benefits from an estimated 55.6 MWh of clean energy annually, saving approximately 12.9 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year. This provides significant cost reductions on electricity bills and supports the school’s sustainability commitments.
