The Challenge

The property’s existing system required an upgrade both in capacity and in technology. The old panels needed to be removed and replaced with modern, more efficient modules. At the same time, the client wanted additional capacity fitted, all connected back into the existing SolarEdge inverter and battery system. Careful planning was required to ensure both the replacement and expansion could be managed without exceeding the inverter’s export limitation of 28.04kW.

Our Solution

PV Plus carried out the works by:

• Removing 54 existing panels and replacing them with new Aiko 460W modules

• Installing a further 54 Aiko 460W modules, doubling the panel count while maximising roof space

• Wiring both the replacement and additional systems back into the property’s existing SolarEdge 33.3kW inverter, configured to the 28.04kW export limit

• Integrating the upgraded array with the existing SolarEdge battery system, ensuring seamless performance and long-term resilience

The Result

The House system now delivers around 49.7kWp capacity, producing approximately 47.5 MWh of clean energy per year. This equates to a carbon saving of around 11 tonnes of CO₂ annually, helping the property further reduce its environmental footprint while maintaining the aesthetic appeal of its green roof.
