What is the OLEV EVHS Grant?

This is a government grant for electric cars provided by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV). The OLEV Grant also known as Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) provides 75% off the cost of purchasing & installing a home charging point upto a maximum of £500.

Available for most electric cars and plug-in hybrid cars. You can claim one charging point per eligible vehicle and up to two charging points per household.

You need to have purchased an eligible electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle from 1st October 2016 onwards

You must have off-street parking

You must use an OLEV-approved home charging point installer like us

We will need to show OLEV that you own or are the primary driver of an EVHS eligible vehicle and we do this by sending them some documents. Below details what documents we need depending on how you own the vehicle:
-Outright Owner - Copy of V5C (Pages 1 & 2) or proof of order
-Personal Lease - Full lease agreement
-Company car driver - Letter from employer
-Salary Sacrifice - Letter from employer

Workplace Charging

The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) allows businesses to claim up money off the purchase and installation of EV charging points. The Office for Low Emission Vehicles will contribute £500 for each charging point (up to a maximum of 20).

The Process

  1. Email us with proof of ownership or order of EV, name, address, email & charger required.
  2. We will contact you to arrange a free site visit.
  3. We will provide you with a quote and work out how much money would be covered by the EVHS grant.
  4. If you are happy to proceed we will require you to fill out and sign a form.
  5. We will order the materials and arrange an installation date.
  6. We will install the charger and take photos of the install to send to DVLA/OLEV.
  7. We will test, commission and notify the DNO and DVLA/OLEV of the install.
  8. We will apply to DVLA/OLEV for the grant.
  9. You will be sent an invoice to pay for the balance of the works.
